Pittsburgh's 17th Annual Can't Stop the Serenity Charity Screening
The Rivers & Bridges Brigade of the Pennsylvania Browncoats, Geek Frontiers and Jump Cut Theater are proud to present the 17th annual Can’t Stop the Serenity Pittsburgh. This year’s event will feature another screening of "Serenity Under the Stars" on Saturday, July 9 in Allegheny County's South Park*, with rain dates of Sunday, July 31 and Sunday, August 7, if necessary. The 2005 sci-fi classic “Serenity” will be screened outdoors in a field at sundown for a true "picnic and a movie" experience.
Attendees are asked to bring their own blankets or chairs, as well as their own food and beverages. (Alcoholic beverages are prohibited by order of Allegheny Parks.) There will be raffles, including a shiny "door prize" and a special raffle for those who are seeing the movie for the first time. There will also be games of an outdoor recreational variety, and plenty of opportunities for Browncoats to socialize before the "Big Damn Movie."
DONATION OPTION A: $15.00 – Admission to the screening, 15 raffle tickets*, 1 entry in the “door prize” raffle (tickets will be distributed evenly among the available raffles if you are not in attendance at the event), and 1 entry in the “first-time viewers” raffle for those attendees who have never seen the film before.
DONATION OPTION B: $15.00 - Includes 20 raffle tickets** purchased online for $15 which will be distributed evenly among the available raffles if you are not in attendance at the event (does not include “door prize” or “first-time viewers” raffles).
* The exact time and location of the screening will be sent electronically by email/text 24 hours in advance to those who choose Donation Option A (please be sure to provide your cell phone number if you wish to be notified via text message.)
**Winner need not be present to win, but prizes cannot be shipped. You must be able to pick them up or be close enough to Pittsburgh for delivery. Please be sure to provide your cell phone number and email address so we can contact you if you win any raffles (raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event in addition to being available online.)
If you are unable to attend but would still like to support the cause and participate in the raffles, please choose Option B.
All proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Equality Now and the Ukrainian American Coordinating Council.
