Description

Join us for the Visual Arts Center of Richmond’s 10th Annual VisArts Chili Throwdown presented by TowneBank on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 6 – 9pm. Proceeds from the Chili Throwdown support VisArts programming.

Participating restaurants contribute their best chili, which is taste-tested by both judges and event attendees. After voting, you're welcome to go back for a full bowl of your favorite chili.

VisArts Members, your ticket is $30, and you get early access to the event (starting at 5:30pm)! Early admission means you're among the first to pick your bowl(s)! Not a member yet? You can join today!

General public tickets are $35.

Youth under the age of 12 eat for $5, and kids under 3 eat for free.

Adult admission (both general and VisArts member tickets) includes:

☑️ a sample of chili from each restaurant

☑️ a handmade ceramic bowl made by a VisArts clay artist

☑️ a full serving of the chili of your choosing

☑️ one free beer or glass of wine

Youth tickets do not come with a ceramic bowl.

Additional ceramic bowls are available for purchase, though some limitations apply. All purchases benefit VisArts programming!

At the end of the evening, VisArts presents awards to two restaurants: a Critics' Choice Award, selected by the judges, and a People's Choice Award.

Event parking is available at Dogwood Middle School. The event is both indoors and outdoors. The event is accessible to individuals using mobility aids.
