The mission of the Historical Society of Saratoga Springs is to foster public education and chronicle the story of Saratoga Springs’ history by operating the History Museum, conducting programs, and collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting materials that document the city’s social, political, economic, geological and cultural history.

Join us for the Saratoga Springs History Museum’s 141st Annual Meeting, held in the iconic Canfield Casino. The evening will begin with a brief presentation on the State of the Museum, followed by a special feature presentation of our newest exhibit:
"Frank Leslie Buys Women’s Votes"
Presented by Nancy Brown, curator of the exhibit.
This presentation celebrates the remarkable life of Miriam Leslie, also known as Frank Leslie, who revolutionized journalism and played a crucial role in the women’s suffrage movement. It will explore how she used her inherited publishing empire, including a $2 million donation to Carrie Chapman Catt, to support the suffrage cause, while also highlighting her personal and social transformations in Saratoga Springs, her rise to prominence through groundbreaking journalism, and her lasting legacy in securing the 19th Amendment.
