2023 Urban Forestry Advisor's Class
Wednesdays, September 13-October 11 (5 sessions), 9 am-1 pm
Join the West Tennessee Chapter of the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council and the Memphis Botanic Garden for an opportunity to learn about trees and issues facing the urban tree canopy. This course is designed for the general public, municipal employees, and members of neighborhood associations, tree boards, garden clubs, and plant societies. Lectures and fieldwork will cover tree biology, ID and selection, risk management, diagnostics, site analysis, tree inventory, construction protection, and the role of federal, state, and local agencies.
Class size is limited; early registration is recommended.

The registration fee includes a digital handbook and dues for both the West Tennessee Urban Forestry Council and the state organization (upon submission of completed examination).
Certified Arborists: Continuing Education Credits available.
Please note: Participants who want to be certified as an Urban Forestry Advisor are required to complete 20 volunteer hours in the field of Urban Forestry.
