Description
Rose City Guitar is a queer woman-owned guitar school focusing on community and collaborative-based education. RCGC specializes in various subgenres of rock, metal, blues, Americana, and fingerstyle percussive guitar. The 2024 Winter Concert is a very exciting event where the students have an opportunity to perform in a band setting and show off their talents since attending the school. There will be multiple genre performances as well as food and beverages! Open to the public and all ages so bring the whole family for loads of fun!
The concert will be taking place at The Old Church - We will open to the public at 12pm with music starting at 12:30pm.
As a school, we know the importance of creating a platform for students to be able to perform and express themselves musically as well as building a community of like-minded musicians willing to further their education to become better musicians. The experience of performing in a band setting is extremely influential and has been proven to motivate our students to improve rapidly and even start their own bands, sometimes with other students attending RCGC. Our school recently moved locations and expanded into retail. Now we have more services available for our students and community including more equipped classrooms, guitar technician/repair services, workshops/education events, and opportunities to perform open mics and attend intimate performances in the new space. The profits from this concert will help us to keep special events like this running and offer more exciting workshops and educational opportunities. Please join us for an afternoon of local music with current and future musicians of Portland!
