Do you want to demonstrate your creativity and problem-solving skills beyond your campus? Then come and join the AMA Minnesota 2025 Collegiate Case Competition!
This competition will test your aptitude for competitive analysis, creative problem-solving, marketing and business strategy, collaborative teamwork, and professional presentations. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your expertise before a panel of judges made up of students in the Carlson School of Management’s Master of Marketing program and local marketing professionals, competing with other students from top universities throughout the region.
Students will develop strategic and tactical recommendations for a real-world marketing challenge from Midco and present their findings to their peers and judges on the campus of the Carlson School of Management. This will be a great opportunity to develop innovative and creative solutions by participating in a very challenging but fun learning experience. A $1,000 cash prize will be awarded to the first place team and $500 to the second place team!
Who should register?
Current undergraduate students in any major with an interest in marketing
When and Where is the event?
Date and Time: Friday, April 11, 2025, 9:00am - 6:00pm Central Time
Location: Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, 321 19th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55455
Parking instructions: The19th Ave Parking Lot address (must park here for validation & easiest entry) is 300 S 19th Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55455. Upon parking, bring your parking ticket with you for validation.
What should I expect?
Students will organize their own teams of 3-8 members each
At least two weeks prior to the competition, the case will be released to all teams
Student teams will analyze the case and synthesize recommendations along with their rationale
Each team will be allowed 20 minutes to present their recommendations and 10 minutes for Q&A with the judges
Presentations will be judged by a panel of students in the Carlson School of Management’s Master of Marketing program and local marketing professionals
There will be several breakout sessions on a variety of topics throughout the day.
9:00am-10:00am Check-in and opening remarks
10:00am-11:30am First round of team presentations
11:30am-1:30pm Executive lunch and learn
1:30pm-5:00pm Second round of team presentations
5:00pm-6:00pm Winners selected and networking
