Step back into the 1980s with a daring fundraiser for Mirrorbox Theatre!
Everyone who’s anyone is dying to be seen at the opening night after-party for Broadway's next big hit, only to discover that someone has met a gruesome end. Will you dare to solve the crime? Dare to rub elbows with Broadway’s cutthroat social elite in order to support your favorite local theatre - Mirrorbox!
You're not just an audience member; you're a character! Choose your role: Principal or Supporting. No scripts, no prep, just come dressed in your most outrageous/glamorous/decadent 80s attire (prizes for best outfits). We'll provide you with a character dossier filled with everything you need to know to interact with other attendees and solve the crime.
Local actors will keep the story suspenseful and engaging, while a silent auction benefits Mirrorbox Theatre. Enjoy hors’ d'oeuvres, desserts, and a cash bar as you mingle and investigate.
After the mystery is solved, the party continues with 80s dance tunes. We pity the fool who does not support local theatre!
Key Plot Points
The Roles:
Principals: These prime suspects are movers and shakers (sometimes literally) on Broadway and in NYC high society. Prior to the event you will receive a character name and brief description. At the event you will receive a detailed dossier with your character backstory and relationships - everything you need to play along. Advance booking required for role assignment.
Supporting: Everyone who’s anyone is at this after-party. You’ll be assigned a role type on arrival (i.e. cast, crew, agents, investors, press, socialites) and have the chance to mix and mingle with the suspects. Maybe you’ll even solve the mystery! Advance and same-day booking available.
The Schedule
7:30 pm: Doors open.
8 pm: All Principal attendees checked in by this time.
9:15 pm: The killer is revealed; 80’s dance party with costume contest.
9:30 pm: Silent auction closes.
11 pm: Event ends.
