The webinar series is open to registrants only (after which recordings will be made available to all registrants for a limited period, planned for July). Ticket ($60 + $4 fees) includes all 4 webinars and a catch-up video viewing privilege. There is no ticket for a single webinar. Ticket sales will end at 4:30pm PDT on July 2nd. We will contact all registrants about the catch-up video viewing site after the conference as soon as we complete video editing.
You will receive a zoom link to gain access to the webinar series sent to your email 1 Day prior to the first webinar date (June 11th) and 1 hour before each webinar. Those who are interested in presenting or have a question, please contact Midori McKeon by email at mmckeon@sfsu.edu. The next year's conference (2023) will have no specific theme for the purpose of revisiting chanoyu and tea culture from a broad angle.
Ocha Zanmai: San Francisco International Conference on Chanoyu and Tea Culture (SFICCTC) is an interdisciplinary conference series that presents the latest research findings and significant work in the study of chanoyu (the Japanese tea ceremony), including various aspects of chanoyu culture as well as tea cultures of countries other than Japan that contribute to furthering the understanding and enjoyment of chanoyu. Scholars, researchers, tea masters of various schools, museum curators, professionals, artists, and other individuals whose work concerns the fields stated above are all welcome to present at SFICCTC. Graduate students are also encouraged to apply.
