Join us for an evening of unforgettable jamming rhythms and foot-stomping beats with 2 of the best string-bending bluegrass bands in the heartland. 

The MilBillies:

WAMI nominated New Artist of the Year (2020), The MilBillies are a 5-piece string band that trades vocals like a fifth of bourbon and solos like a bull on a rope, slinging high-energy bluegrass stripped raw with Americana grit. 

Established in late 2018, The MilBillies immediately hit the ground running, bringing their unique synthesis of traditional and progressive bluegrass to venues and festivals throughout the upper midwest and beyond.

The MilBillies project a veritable wall of sound, starting with an intentional focus on melodic lyricism in songwriting and finishing with an unparalleled, action-packed live performance. Together they have crafted a genuinely thrilling live show, taking "high-energy" musicianship to another level while enthralling the crowd with intoxicating melodies and lyrical subject matter any troubadour would tip their hat to.

Miles Over Mountains:

Hailing from McHenry, IL Miles Over Mountains plays a modernized style of progressive bluegrass covering a wide spectrum of genres, dynamics, and feeling. Their live catalogue draws from their studio albums “Five Star Heart Breaker” (2015), “Ballads & Burners” (2017), and “Work Harder Not Smarter" (2020). They recently wrapped up the release of a new full-length album "Burn the Ships" (2023) that came out this year in March of 2023. The band has been performing, touring, and making records since early 2014 playing an average of 150+ shows per year throughout the Midwest region and beyond. 
 

The group features Phil Hoffman (upright bass), Caleb Peters (guitar), Sean Shiel (mandolin), and Pete Smith(banjo). Collectively the members of the group have thousands of shows under their belt, giving their songs, sound, and performances a musical maturity that echoes their collective years of passion and experience.
