A Songwriting Lesson Adventure with Scott Fivelson
Scott Fivelson is the writer/producer of the music-biz film, American Reel, starring the legendary David Carradine (Tarantino’s Kill Bill films) as singer-songwriter “James Lee Springer.” He’s also the writer/director of the award-winning Hollywood comedy biopic, Near Myth: The Oskar Knight Story, starring Lenny Von Dohlen (Twin Peaks) as one of our greatest directors, Oskar Knight.
Scott’s songs have been covered by a variety of artists, including Breeze BossaNova, Chicago jazz singer/guitarist Michael Ross, singer-songwriter Dave Corwin, Norwegian folk band Fir Arda, and numerous others.
Bring your musical instrument of choice if you like (unless it’s a grand piano). Instrument in hand or not, bring yourself and the songs you’ve written, are working on, or simply the desire to write a song. We’ll play songs, ask and answer questions about the process, and lean into that thing called inspiration.
If Ringo can do it, so can you.
