With shows in numerous galleries and museums and an artist-in-residency at HISAM, Saumolia has catapulted to prominence in the Hawaii art scene.
His paintings reflect an evolvement and range of who he is. They are personal, abstract, and passionately tell the story of his triumphs, heartbreaks, and love. The primary foundation of his work is inspired by the patterns and colors found in nature.
Since moving to Hau’ula, the horizon has been a recurring and inspirational theme in his latest work. "It is a peaceful, inspiring, unattainable place where the sun and the eyes meet and my inner spirit feels most complete” —Saumolia
This theme has cumulated with his Horizon 100 collection. For this show, Saumolia has created a large visual display of his Hau'ula Horizon 100 Art Collection and added some exciting new original pieces.
