A young, ambitious girl named Belle, dreaming of a life of adventure far beyond the confines of her small town, finds herself at a life-altering crossroad as she stumbles upon a castle deep in the French wilderness where her widowed father has recently been taken captive. In a moment of desperation, Belle offers to take her father's place as prisoner, exhibiting deep sacrificial love - a love that sets her father free, and captures the heart of her lonely captor, a hopeless prince-turned-beast.
