APRIL 10: BLUES GUITARIST AND SONGWRITER DANIEL CASTRO
Blues guitarist and songwriter Daniel Castro learned his craft in the South Central L.A. blues clubs alongside “Mighty Mouth” Delmar Evans, before recording and touring with artists including Small Faces singer-bassist Ronnie Lane. In 1995, he formed The Daniel Castro Band, releasing two albums under that name. He now plays regularly with bassist Johnny Yu and drummer David Perper. His warm, soulful playing follows in the footsteps of blues greats Albert King, B.B. King and Albert Collins.
With the regular swing dancing, good times and Blues Defenders ProJam.
APRIL 17 - PRO JAM, FEATURING DONNY MEDEROS, JEFF PICHE, IAN LAWSON, BRUCE GORDON, AND NICK OTIS
Regular Pro Jam hosts The Blues Defenders treat audiences to a memorable evening of blues and swing dancing at The California. The Blues Defenders musicians are Donny Mederos, Jeff Piche, Ian Lamson, Bruce Gordon and Nick Otis.
APRIL 24 - POWERHOUSE SINGER MARINA CROUSE
Powerhouse singer Marina Crouse is one of the most notable talents on the San Francisco/Bay Area music scene. Her early classical training is reflected in her powerful and versatile vocal style that creates an emotional authenticity that consistently cuts deep. Her music straddles soul, blues, funk and New Orleans R&B, always with a nod to her Chicana heritage.
