Guten tag, friends! Make plans to join us Saturday, October 5 for Mississippi's brew-iest and most hoppy day as we enjoy German inspired beers from local distributors and Mississippi breweries, paired with German treats in Downtown Brandon restaurants from 2-6pm. This is a family friendly event, complete with root beer floats available and a "Kinderzone."
The tasting biergartens are: The Cleaners by Pizza Shack, Burgers Blues Barbecue, Mudbugs042, and The Gallows. Your ticket includes a tasting of a pre-designated beer in each location (four 5oz beers to be sampled)+ your $5 armband to spend time in the Biergartens. The festival ordinance will be activated and you will have the ability to purchase full size beers to walk around or meet friends, however, these beers are not allowed inside another restaurant. We are adding a Community Biergarten (designated on a later map) to sit with friends, enjoy beers and food from various Downtown Brandon establishments. There will be live music, Q&A sessions with local businesses on topics related to Oktoberfest, games, and entertainment in the Community Biergarten.
*A child ticket is not required to attend, however, root beer floats, a rock wall, and other items will be available for purchase. Patrons 21 years and older who do not have a tasting ticket will be asked at the entrance to biergartens to purchase a $5 armband to enter. Only one purchase of an armband will be needed to enter any of the biergartens during the event. The biergarten armbands are included in the price of tasting tickets.*
A full lineup of events will come soon, however, we can guarantee:
1:30pm- Ticket Holder check-in begins at the Community Biergarten (tasting pours do not start until 2pm)
2:00pm- Ceremonial Tapping of the Keg with Dog Mayor Medley Khlan, Capital City Beverage, and Fertile Ground Beer Company in the Community Bank Community Biergarten; All are invited! Followed by a live Q&A with Fertile Ground Beer Company, talking all about beer, on the ALFA: The Jussely Agency and Performance Therapy stage!
Kinderzone activities begin: mini "Big Wheels and Trucks," face painting, Fall Festival games, root beer floats for sale from Flying Dolly's, Tiger Rock Karate, inflatable obstacle courses, and a rock wall!
The Cleaners: Live wood carving demonstration; the sculpture will be taken to the Quarry Trails as an entrance marker!
Burgers and Blues Patio: Football games live on screens in restaurants. Throw axes with Black Axes!
2:30pm- Live music with The Delta Krauts & Black Axes set up in the Community Bank Community Biergarten
Oktoberfest Trivia & Singo rounds begin at Mudbugs042 (Will last two hours will multiple rounds-- prizes!)
3:30pm- Beer Pairings Q&A Session with Fertile Ground Company and Country Meat Packers, in the Community Biergarten! Hosted by Jason Scarborough of Audibles. Brandon FFA will be onsite grilling FREE Country Meat Packers samples + selling their Fall mums!
4:00-5:00pm- Live music with The Delta Krauts in the Community Bank Community Biergarten
4:30pm- Trihelm Properties Hammerschlaggen Competition at The Gallows-- prize for winner! Hosted by Adam and Tyler of the Bourbon and Business Podcast!
5:30pm- Live Music
6:00pm- NAI UCR Properties Musskrugstemmen: Stein Holding Competition at Burgers, Blues Barbecue-- a keg for use at a later date, donated by Capital City Beverage, for the winner! Hosted by Adam and Tyler of the Bourbon and Business Podcast!
