Description

Join the tool library for coffee while learning about the options available in home security.

Security systems and surveillance cameras serve a broader purpose than deterring and detecting break-ins. They can alert you to home safety events even when you're away, such as fires, carbon monoxide alarms, water leaks, furnace malfunctions that could lead to frozen or burst pipes, and even unusual activity around your property.

Hear a short presentation on the different types of DIY security systems, the installation process, and the pros and cons of central station monitoring. Then, participate in a Q&A session on the topic.

Meet the Instructor: Rick Muscoplat is a former electrician, ASE Master Auto Technician, and writer of a DIY fix-it column for The Family Handyman.
