Brian McSweeney
Chicago-based band MIIRRORS frontman Brian McSweeney brings his folk-rock side project to Uncommon Ground for the last of his 2023 residency dates. With The song craft of M. Ward, the lo-fi charisma of Elliot Smith, and winsome three-part harmonies courtesy of special guests Bird x Butterfly, this performance of his album As the Bluebird promises to be an evening to remember.

Bird x Butterfly
Korean-American musical duo from Chicago, Illinois. The band consists of two members, Frances Kang and Paul Kim, who create indie-pop music characterized by ethereal soundscapes, introspective lyrics, and haunting, oftentimes harmonizing vocals.

LESLIE BEUKELMAN
Leslie Beukelman (singer/songwriter) is a staple of Chicago’s vibrant music scene and beyond. She is a first call singer/voiceover artist for various projects and studio sessions around the world. Leslie is one-third of Chicago trio, The Oh Yeahs, singing in harmony and offering new music alongside her two bandmates and dear friends, Allison Orobia and Sarah Marie Young. Leslie is an accomplished songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, melodica, trumpet). Her recent releases include three solo albums, “Tonight (At Noon)” (2022), “A Merry Little Christmas” (2020) & “Golden Daffodil'' (Woolgathering Records, 2020). Leslie’s sound has been described as a “striking voice that conveys emotion subtly and elegantly” (All About Jazz).
