Celebrating Lilian J. Rice
Luncheon and Presentation at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe
Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:30 AM
Celebrate the legacy of pioneering female architect Lilian Rice. In 1910, Rice became one of the first women to graduate from the University of California, Berkeley architecture program. In less than 20 years of professional work, she designed more than 100 homes in San Diego County and planted Spanish Colonial Revival as a state architectural style. Several of her works are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Event Overview
Following a wine reception on The Inn’s terrace, guests will enjoy lunch in the newly renovated ballroom with a special presentation by Diane Y. Welch, official biographer of Lilian J. Rice. Ms. Welch will highlight her book, Lilian J. Rice; Architect of Rancho Santa Fe, California.
Tickets are $125 per person, including a complimentary signed copy of Ms. Welch's book. Lunch will include an entree salad, dessert, and wine.
