About Our Speakers:

Sean Lentz, Senior Municipal Advisor, Ehlers

Sean has nearly 30 years of public finance experience related to bond issues, financial planning, and economic development. He serves Wisconsin and Minnesota cities, townships, counties, and public utilities with financing and development needs. Sean partners with staff and governing bodies in communities large and small to design and present financial options that help community leaders achieve their goals.  Sean’s experience is especially valuable for his strategic perspective, market knowledge, and relationships with underwriters and rating agencies.

Greg Johnson, Senior Municipal Advisor, Ehlers

Greg is a Senior Municipal Advisor with our Wisconsin municipal team. He guides local governments and public agencies in design and implementation of financial solutions that empower communities to advance their critical missions. Prior to joining Ehlers in 2005, Greg worked in municipal government as an administrator in Kansas, Illinois and Wisconsin. Clients depend on Greg for his ability to comprehensively analyze their financial landscapes and construct innovative debt issuance and economic development programs.

Steven A. Cherek, Village Administrator & Treasurer - Marathon City

Sam Wessel, AICP, Senior Planner - North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission

Sam is a Senior Planner for North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission based in Wausau, which covers ten counties: Adams, Forest, Juneau, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Portage, Vilage, and Wood. NCWRPC provides cost-effective services for land use, transportation, outdoor recreation, broadband, economic development, and other planning-related topics. Sam has lived all over the midwest and has degrees in Environmental Science and Urban & Regional Planning, and most of his work has been on public lands and in local government. He relocated to Central Wisconsin in 2021 with his family due to the low cost of living, proximity to family, and his familiarity with the area from spending summers in high school and college on Petenwell and Arrowhead Lakes in Adams County. He enjoys exploring all that Wisconsin has to offer with his family, usually in the form of hiking, biking, or learning something new.
