Using acting prep skills and DnD character building, learn to flesh out your character for any kind of burlesque act!
You will learn to:
- Extend your character's story and "wants" into every deta
- create complimentary social media to make the most of different platforms
- turn your act into a multimedia experience
- learn how to use Charlie's signature Shimmy Sheet Character Builder.
This class is offered to all. The School of Striptease teaches using the motto, "all bodies are burlesque bodies."
Originally from the UK, Charlie Quinn Starling trained in musical theatre at Arts Ed London. They started their burlesque career at The Box Soho, where she became protégé to Julie Atlas Muz. Under Julie’s tutelage she joined Absinthe at Caesar’s Palace as “The Ballerina In A Bubble”, and eventually switched to “The Green Fairy” role.
They performed at the Weekender with Legend Lovey Goldmine in 2019, and again for the online Weekender during the pandemic.
Festival appearances include Show Me Burlesque And Vaudeville Festival, Land Of The Sky, Smokey Mountain, Savannah and Hollywood.
She is headlining The Aphrodisi-Acts present Bippity Boppity Burlesque in Houston on Feb 29th, is a competitor in the 2024 Shimmy Showdown and is headed to the UK for a tour and residency at The Box Soho in March. This act is an ode to serving, pleasuring, and worshipping cunt. Please welcome Charlie Quinn Starling.
This course is scheduled to be taught in-person. The Burlesque Hall of Fame reserves the right to teach this course virtually, at its discretion. Furthermore, classes may be recorded via Zoom for any students who may need to miss a class.
