Description

During the season of Passover, as we reflect on the journey from slavery to freedom, we turn to another liberator who helped shape America’s moral conscience. Charles Sumner—U.S. Senator, fiery abolitionist, and unyielding advocate for civil rights—was a towering figure in the fight to end slavery and rebuild the nation on a foundation of justice and equality.

Biographer Zaakir Tameez will join Rabbi Karol to discuss his forthcoming book, Charles Sumner: Conscience of a Nation, which explores how Sumner drew inspiration from the Exodus story to guide his political and moral vision. His legacy offers powerful insights for our ongoing struggles over race, democracy, and justice.
