Cheese: Milk's Leap Toward Immortality (Part 1)
Are you a cheese lover? Do you want to learn more about the transformational process from milk to cheese? If so, join us for this first part of a two-part series with Chef Nord.
In this class, we'll be discussing - and making! - fresh cheeses, with a focus on ricotta and mozzarella! (Part 2 featuring aged cheeses and (not)cooking with cheese) .
Whether you are a cheese connoisseur or just a casual enthusiast, this event will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the art and science of cheese making.
About the instructor
The workshop will be led by local cook Nord. Nord has been cooking professionally for over 20 years, from a farm-to-table chef at a winery in Minnesota to Executive Chef at Pelican Brewing in Cannon Beach. He now runs Nord Nosh, an open air food cart at the Astoria Sunday Market, and is putting together a series of dinners called Nord Nosh 9. He has a wealth of knowledge, techniques, tips, and tricks that he is eager to share through Community Cooking Workshops here at North Coast Food Web.
This workshop will be part of an ongoing series with Chef Nord, as he translates the skills of the professional chef to the home cook. Don't miss out on this chance to expand your culinary repertoire and mingle with fellow food enthusiasts. We look forward to seeing you!
