Description
Spooky spiders for Halloween or or glitzy ones for Christmas? Well, they can be for both, according to the Legend of the Christmas spider! Spend an evening with Julia learning how to create exquisite beaded spiders and learning about their Christmas story.
In Julia’s class, participants will build their own spiders, using a variety of beads and wire. Technical jewelry skills will be taught - participants will learn how to make a wire wrapped hoop and a piggy loop. There will also be a discussion about using costume jewelry pieces in your spider creations.
No beading or jewelry experience required. All materials and tools supplied. Participants will leave with a finished project, an instruction sheet, and a copy of the German Christmas Spider tradition.
Please note: please feel free to bring your own beading supplies, especially any preferred round nose pliers and/or wire cutters. All materials provided with additional material available for purchase during class.

Tickets must be purchased online at least 12 hours before the workshop. No walk-ins. Space is limited. Tickets are non refundable so please plan accordingly before purchasing. Please have email confirmation / ticket readily available upon arrival. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Attendees may bring non messy snacks and drinks in sealable containers. Please note that photographs will be taken throughout this workshop. These may be used by Spare Parts for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media or in any third party publication. This workshop is eligible for NEISD Teacher's Choice continuing Education Hours. To obtain a certificate please ask a team member for one during the workshop.
