Filmmakers David Altrogge, Michael Hartnett, Andrew Calvetti, and Mary Sabol are sharing a very special hometown screening of their new documentary Clemente before it is available to wider audiences.  We are so excited to welcome them along with some others from the production for a screening and Q&A session after the film.

Executive produced by LeBron James and Oscar-nominee Richard Linklater, Clemente is a feature-length documentary that explores the life, career, and legacy of Roberto Clemente. From his childhood in Puerto Rico, to his early years of struggle with the Pittsburgh Pirates, to becoming one of baseball’s most beloved and iconic players, to his untimely death in 1972, Clemente is a celebration of a man who gave his all — both on and off the field. The film is slated for release in 2024.  Winner of the SXSW Documentary Spotlight Audience Award.

Q&A Panel with Local Producers after the film

Directed/produced by David Altrogge, cinematography/produced by Michael Hartnett, and produed  by Andrew Calvetti and Mary Sable.  As well as being producers, these three are connected to Indiana, living and working here for many years.  Their production company, Vinegar Hill Productions started here and served the community for a decade before moving to Pittsburgh.  We are so excited to welcome back these artists.

 

Other possible special guests, including those who knew Roberto Clemente, to be announced closer to the event if available.
