321 East 73rd StreetCWS Northeast is thrilled to invite you to Common Threads, our first refugee fashion show!
Designers from Syria, Afghanistan, Cuba, and Ukraine are hard at work constructing brand new outfits to debut on February 8th, and we so excited to share their work with you! All designers are newly arrived humanitarian migrants, and current or former clients of the CWS Jersey City office. All outfits will be available at auction following the show.
This event is an opportunity to showcase the incredible talent of our new neighbors, as well as to raise money to support humanitarian migrants in 2024. CWS is funded by a combination of local, state, federal, and private funders and we rely on community support to provide robust and comprehensive services to our many thousands of clients.
Following the show, we will share some highlights and accomplishments of CWS's work in 2023, and our ambitious goals for 2024.
Beer from Back Home Beer (www.backhomebeer.com) as well as hors d'oeuvres, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.
CWS Northeast represents eight CWS offices in the greater Northeastern United States: Indianapolis, Rochester, NYC, Islip Long Island, Georgetown DE, Jersey City, Lancaster PA, and Harrisburg PA. Across the region, we support refugees, humanitarian parolees, asylum seekers, unaccompanied children, and other migrants seeking safety. Through a mix of comprehensive social and legal services, we equip our clients with the tools they need to achieve self-sufficiency and meet their goals.
