30 West 68th StreetOn Shabbat and Simchat Torah, Hamas launched an inhuman, brutal attack on Israeli civilians. According to the latest reports, many hundreds of Israeli civilians, soldiers and police were killed, thousands were wounded, and an estimated 100 have been taken hostage and kidnapped to Gaza.
The fighting in Israel is ongoing, and the weeks and months ahead will be filled with bloodshed and heartbreak. We have faith that Israel will prevail, but we know the cost will be great.
We invite you to join us for a gathering in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Israel. Together, we'll pray for the well-being of the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces as they seek to bring Hamas terrorists to justice and ensure the safety of Israeli civilians.
At the gathering, we'll also discuss ways each of us can help support Israel during this time of dire need — including by supporting our synagogue's emergency humanitarian relief fund. A list of opportunities and resources will be distributed.
