Music, Drama and Visual Arts are a vital part of life at ISB. Apart from the intrinsic value of these activities at all levels, we believe that artistic expression enriches our understanding of the world and helps students learn the dispositions for a successful and fulfilled life: collaboration; shared responsibility; focus and the importance of dedication and performance.
Description
DOORS OPEN AT 16:00 HRS AND THE SHOW STARTS AT 16:15 HRS
The MS/HS Unified Theatre class (previously Sensory Friendly Theatre) have been working on an original production of Cow Dragon this semester.
Cow Dragon is a story written by Elementary school student Peter Davies and illustrated by High school student Nadia Van Pel, as part of the ES First Stories initiative. We have adapted the story into a 15 minute play that we hope to perform to classes from the ECC and ES, as well as a parent/friend performance afterschool. The Unified Theatre class is an inclusive program where students from the ILS classes work alongside their peers from the Middle School to create a sensory friendly piece of theatre.
The cast and crew will be comprised of students from the Middle and High School ILS classes, alongside other Middle School students. The Middle School Technical Theatre class will be designing, testing and building cardboard sets, costumes and props for the show, and they will also contribute to the running of the show in roles like the lighting operator, sound operator and stage hands.
