Description

We have a special guest joining us at Earthenry Farm this March for a Dahlia Masterclass workshop - Charlie Smith from Devon Dahlias!

Charlie lives in Bicheno in Northern Tasmania and has been growing and showing dahlias for over 56 years. He helped establish the Dahlia Society of Tasmania, and is a master breeder of quality dahlia cultivars. Devon Dahlias are known and sought after around the world and have won many growers Champion awards on the show bench.

During this workshop, attendees will learn Charlie's secrets to breeding and selecting dahlias as he takes us step by step through his process for dahlia hybridising. Charlie will answer all your burning dahlia FAQ's and we will tour the Earthenry Dahlia field to see Dahlia seedling assessment in action. This workshop is suitable for showing enthusiasts as well as those growing and breeding for floral design and cut flowers.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn from a master of the dahlia world in this rare-to-be offered workshop. A must for the serious grower, breeder or dahlia addict.

Refreshments and morning tea included. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Earthenry Flower Farm

Here at Earthenry we grow over 100 different varieties of gorgeous seasonal flowers all nestled amongst beautiful gardens to explore during our open season events (October to April). Located in Lower Snug we are only a 25 minute drive south of Hobart and 5 mins from the Bruny Island ferry terminal.

From January to March, when our flowers are at their peak, we open weekly for 'Pick Your Own Flowers' and picnics on the lawns. Our Friday night twilight sessions with food, drinks and music are our most popular!

You can also book into one of our inspiring creative floral workshops or learn how we grow our flowers by attending one of our practical farming workshops. Our community volunteer gardening program Garden + Gossip runs every Friday during the off-season and welcomes new members!
