Veteran Americana/Folk Rock Artist Dana Cooper Makes Triumphant Return with New Album “The Ghost of Tucumcari.”

NASHVILLE, TN - Acclaimed singer-songwriter Dana Cooper released his highly anticipated 32nd studio album, “The Ghost of Tucumcari”, on May 17, 2024. Featuring an All-Star lineup of guest artists, the album marks a major achievement for the veteran musician after over 50 years in the business. Dana's 1st release on Elektra Records came out 51 years ago featuring the legendary band "The Section" with Leland Sklar & Russ Kunkel - AKA The Immediate Family - as his session band for the album.

Artists lending their voices to this NEW project are Lyle Lovett, Hayes Carll, Susan Gibson, Mando Saenz, Darden Smith, Shake Russell, Libby Koch and more. The Album charted # 7 on the Folk Chart and #9 on Alt Country.

Dana's story is one of true perseverance and lifelong dedication to his craft.
“Few artists can claim to make music for 50 years and still do so with the same eagerness and enthusiasm that marked their initial efforts.” Lee Zimmerman - American Songwriter

“The Ghost of Tucumcari” takes listeners on a stirring musical journey across genres from Folk and Rock to Country and Americana. Standout tracks include the haunting first single "The Ghost of Tucumcari" featuring Grammy winner Lyle Lovett and the rousing rendition of Woody Guthrie’s song "This Land Is Your Land" with Lyle Lovett, Hayes Carll, and all the other guest vocalists on the album.  The Album is currently booming on Spotify and all other digital platforms with the biggest numbers of any other releases.

Quote from Glide Magazine - "The Title Track crackles with a mysterious energy that would make for the background music of a David Lynch film, where dreamlike patterns form out of the subconscious.  With Lyle Lovett on vocals, the track encapsulates the essence of true Americana".

"The Album is 5 Star Grammy Material." - Shake Russell
"Genius" - Tom Tranchilla - KPFT Radio
"Blown Away.  The Title Cut! What can I say but "Meow" - Marilyn Rea Beyer - Midnight Special - WFMT
"The Ghost of Tucumcari" earns its right to be selected as the haunting title track.  Cooper makes it clear that not only does he know how to collaborate, but he also has extensive industry experience." - Will Phoenix - Newsbreak
"Americana of the Highest Order" - Fred Schmale - Real Roots Cafe

"The songs on this album span decades, from the 70’s up to right now." said Cooper.  “Every artist/friend that contributed gave wonderful performances.”

In addition to the album, Cooper will embark on an extensive North American tour with several shows sponsored by Ryan Bingham's - Bingham's Bourbon. Kicking off in May in Texas and touring nationally thru 2025, the tour will give both diehard and newfound fans the chance to experience Cooper's legendary live performances firsthand.
Dana Cooper proves that creativity and touring has no expiration date.

“The Ghost of Tucumcari” is a testament to lifelong passion and musical integrity from one of folk rock's most enduring Troubadours.

Brandon Sampson, lead singer songwriter, Six Mile Grove.

It all started in Lyle, MN (pop. 500) with a skid loader and a fence post. Six Mile Grove frontman Brandon Sampson was 7-years-old when he injured his hand while helping his dad on the family farm. He was prescribed guitar playing for physical therapy, and a musician was born.

Six Mile Grove has weathered 20 years of the tumultuous music scene as a self-managed, self-produced, and self-recorded band. Its music continues to evolve, as an organic, honest voice untinkered with and untainted by the lure of record labels or flashy music producers.

In their critically acclaimed latest album Million Birds, the band contemplates the humble human challenges of work, family, life and love; when to take risks, when to play it safe, when to fight, and when to surrender.
