Get ready for an unforgettable celebration as the Darwell & District Agricultural Society (DDAS) marks its 80th Anniversary with a spectacular fair weekend! From Friday night through Sunday, our community will come together for a barnburner of an event packed with excitement, fun, and tradition.
Friday, August 16: The festivities kick off on Friday night with a barnburner to set the tone for the weekend. Expect live music, great food, and a fantastic atmosphere as we gather to celebrate eight decades of community spirit.
Saturday, August 17 & Sunday, August 18: The weekend will be filled with a wide variety of events and activities for all ages:
- Bench Show: Marvel at the impressive displays of local talents, including crafts, baking, and artwork.
- Slow Pitch Tournament: Cheer on your favorite teams as they compete for glory on the diamond.
- Horse Show: Witness the grace and skill of riders and their horses in this thrilling event.
- Cattle Show: Admire the finest cattle in the region, showcasing the hard work of our dedicated farmers.
- Farmer Olymp-hicks: Join in the fun and test your skills in these hilarious and challenging farm-themed games.
- Greased Pig Race: Watch (or participate!) in the uproarious chase as contestants try to catch the elusive greased pig.
- Jack Axe: Experience the excitement of axe throwing competitions.
- Bucking Bull: Hold on tight for the wild ride in our bucking bull event.
- Petting Zoo: Bring the kids to meet and interact with a variety of adorable farm animals.
- Blacksmith Demonstrations: Step back in time and watch skilled blacksmiths at work, creating beautiful and functional items.
Plus, enjoy free Pancake Breakfasts on Saturday & Sunday mornings! That’s just the beginning—there will be plenty of food vendors, kids games, and entertainment throughout the weekend to ensure there’s something for everyone.
