From the Northern Lights in Alaska to the southernmost point in Key West, for nearly 3 decades Dave has traveled the highways of America, sharing his music and the culture of New Orleans and south Louisiana. Along the way he has visited all 50 states and played every kind of gig imaginable- from world renowned festivals like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Telluride Blues & Brews Festival; to smoky dive bars and American music institutions the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and the Fox Theater in Boulder,  and back to his legendary hometown venues Tipitina’s and the Maple Leaf in New Orleans. It’s not just a music career, but a lifelong passion of seeking out America and things that connect us.

 

An award winning songwriter and bandleader, his songs and storytelling cover the gamut of collective emotion- love and loss, joy and grief, pleasure and pain, whimsy and folly. Stylistically, he’s been described as a swampy lovechild of Tom Petty, Dr. John and John Prine. He freely incorporates elements of rock, blues, funk, jam, Americana, country and folk music, all with a rhythm foundation that belies his south Louisiana upbringing, weaving a colorful tapestry of American roots music, via New Orleans

FAQ

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
      We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed.
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for  The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  •   Our outdor space has a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, if you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
