Defense Roundtable: Government to Government Cross-Talk 
DIU hosted discussion to share what organizations are doing across the innovation ecosystem and explore areas of synergy.

Purpose:
Given the breadth of innovation efforts across the Department and the imperative to unify and scale them, DIU and NSIN leadership participating in the Florida Regional Roadshow on Wednesday, Sept. 13th at the Central Florida TechGrove will host a Defense Roundtable discussion. DIU will facilitate cross-talk between defense leaders from 2:45-3:45 pm EST, both virtual and in person.

Defense mission partners are welcome to attend and contribute to furthering shared capability understanding across all echelons. As a one hour strategy session following the Roadshow’s presentations,  this discussion will focus on how DIU is delivering strategic impact to the Combatant Commands.  Be a part of the conversation and learn about synchronization efforts across the innovation ecosystems that DIU is leading. 

Discussion focus: Combatant Command Integration 
In order to refocus on a smaller number of critical technology solutions, DIU will embed within Combatant Commands and Service leadership to understand important strategic gaps. This embedded approach also includes working with key operational innovators, such as the XVIII Airborne Corps designed for rapid deployment anywhere in the world, as well as the Joint Special Operations Command. More broadly, by working with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Joint Force partners, DIU aims to align priorities with existing core strategic frameworks to ensure the resulting strategic focus is aligned with and informs Department priorities through existing leadership decision forums.

Central Florida Tech Grove

The Central Florida Tech Grove is a hub for accelerating collaboration and innovation in defense modeling, simulation, training, and human performance.  Tech Grove is located in the Central Florida Research Park in Orlando, Florida which is the epicenter of the nation's largest cluster of government, industry, academic, and industry organizations developing and delivering training and simulation products for our nation's military. Tech Grove was established in 2020 through a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) between the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) and the University of Central Florida Research Foundation.  Ten other Department of Defense entities are Tech Grove members with NAWCTSD: US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), US Air Force Agency for Modeling & Simulation (AFAMS), US Marine Corps Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS), US Army Simulation & Training Technology Center (STTC), US Army Futures Command Synthetic Training Environment Cross-Functional Team (STE CFT), Defense Health Agency (DHA), U.S. Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM), Strategic Environmental Research and Development (SERDP), Army Modeling Simulation Office (AMSO), and the Office of Naval Research through the NavalX Central Florida Tech Bridge.
