The Brighton & Hove Food Partnership's Community Kitchen is a cookery school where everyone can cook, learn new skills and enjoy food with others. We want everyone to experience the benefits of cooking and eating together. By paying for a cookery class, you help other people to attend cookery activities, regardless of finance, confidence or ability, and to make lasting changes to their lives.
Description
Chinese cuisine has long embraced what many in the UK are only just discovering – that you get more with bite-sized dishes. In this hands-on course, you will be taken on a journey of discovery to learn about the different styles of dim sum and the specialist ingredients needed for them, before preparing and cooking your own using a traditional steamer basket over a wok.
You will work in pairs but everyone will learn to create siu mai, a type of open wonton, and learn various folds for dumplings with different flavourings and fillings.
What previous participants said: “Amazing class, thank you so much! Liked the interactive experience, relaxing environment and teacher.” “Will definitely try this again at home.” “Really enjoyed the whole evening; learning all the folding techniques and watching the chef.”
