Description

How do our beliefs about leadership shape our wants, needs, and experiences inside of collaborative processes? What is necessary in order to effectively give and receive feedback in creative spaces? What exactly is the role of a theatre director? In this workshop, Madeline will share some lessons learned in her ten years of leadership experience, and participants will contribute to collective knowledge-building through both individual and group metacognitive activities. Theatre artists of all disciplines and experience levels are welcome!

Madeline Wall is a theatre creature based in Minneapolis. She writes, directs, and produces plays; she also acts and choreographs intimacy for the stage. Most recent artistic credits include Theatre Elision's In the Green and The Birth Play Project's Mary's Wondrous Body. Her adaptation of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure will premiere in the Twin Cities this September and October. Madeline's writing and research is centered on womb stories and reproductive justice; she is the company director of The Birth Play Project (@birthplayproject on Instagram) and is passionate about somatic experience, fair process, and the potential of incorporating social science into artistic leadership and company-building practices.
