The program will start with a brief gallery walk through the Gordon Parks exhibition, followed by a presentation on the history of documentary photography - and why it still matters in the 21st century, a time characterized by instant news flashes and social media. The presenter will also share samples of his own work, documenting America’s changing cultural landscape for over four decades. 

A native of Switzerland, Peter Schreyer is an internationally exhibited, award-winning photographer who has documented America’s cultural landscape for over four decades. He is the long-time Executive Director of Crealdé School of Art and Senior Faculty Member.

The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens

The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens, founded in 1961, houses a collection focusing on American representational sculpture, prominently featuring Polasek’s creations. The museum is one of only 55 mem­bers listed on the National Trust’s His­toric Artists’ Homes and Studios. We offer guided tours of the historic Polasek residence and chapel, an outdoor sculpture garden, rotating exhibits, and a gift shop.
