Description

Throughout the 19th and early 20th century, Troy and Rensselaer County were home to several progressive-minded ladies who, while politically divided, worked together to foster women’s education, debate a woman's right to vote and advocate on behalf of other reforms such as abolition and child welfare laws that encouraged and supported women.

Join Kathy Sheehan and HCM's Rising Leaders for the first Drinking History event of 2023 at The Ruck and learn about some of these fervently fascinating females that include Betsey Hart, Emma Willard, Olivia Slocum Sage and more!

Ticket purchase includes a special themed drink provided by The Ruck, Wild Women of Rensselaer County talk given by City of Troy and Rensselaer County Historian, and a chance to enter and win a raffle prize.

Plus, a 10% discount on your final bill for all who stay after the event concludes!

Hart Cluett Museum

The Hart Cluett Museum is operated by Historic Rensselaer County (Rensselaer County Historical Society), a dynamic not-for-profit educational organization established in 1927 to connect local history and heritage with contemporary life. We enrich the present and advocate for the future by bringing the region's past to life, recognizing every face and every story. In pursuit of this mission, we collect, preserve, study, interpret, and make accessible a broad variety of objects and documents. We also conduct educational programs that inspire public enthusiasm for our roots and bolster the entrepreneurial appetites of our community.
