is a chamber ensemble comprised of New York City's best brass players that have been traditionally underrepresented in the brass world. eGALitarian Brass is also dedicated to performing and commissioning new works by diverse composers and breaking the boundaries of chamber music today with an emphasis on those who have often been historically underrepresented in brass repertoire.
eGALitarian Brass has presented recitals at Newport Classical, Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, Women Composer's Festival of Hartford, International Women’s Brass Conference, New York Women Composers, and Spectrum’s Female Composers Festival. They have also presented recitals throughout New York City, Long Island, Connecticut, and New Jersey. As a party band collaborating with drums, eGALitarian has performed throughout NYC at venues including Rockwood Music Hall, Drom, HONK Brass Band Festival, The Sampler, as well as private parties, parades and events. eGAlitarian Brass has also collaborated with Little Amal, Alice Austen House, Summer Streets, and USDAN camp for performances.
This program will feature our favorite jazz, funk, and popular music covers - all rearranged for brass. Come out to hear everything from Duke Ellington to Olivia Rodrigo. From soulful ballads like Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why" to groovy familiar tunes like "Just the Two of Us" we are excited to bring the gals down to the bottom of Brooklyn and play for you. Fun fact - Our very first performance was actually on a concert series at St Sebastian's in Queens so this is our 6 year anniversary and we hope to see you there!
