Description
Embracing Gentle: Somatic Exercise for Pain, Peace, and Comfort Through the Holiday Seasonπ
We have all heard of self-care through the holidays, but what can that look like? πβ¨
Here is one option!
Embrace a journey of self-discovery and practice one of the key principles in Somatic Exercise of staying in comfort this holiday season. This 6 Week Series is an intro to Somatic Exercise and Healing practices, designed to help you listen to your soma/body, release tension, and navigate the complexities of the season with comfort and care. π
This series acknowledges the unique challenges the holidays can bring. It promises to guide you through whole-body Somatic practices and self-care rituals with the goal of learning to listen to and respond to yourself with gentleness and understanding ; While fostering a deeper connection and understanding of the wisdom your body holds. π±
Somatic Exercise is a gentle, brain-based practice that involves mindfulness, slow adaptable movement, and muscle contraction followed by a controlled release. This approach to tight muscles centres around going towards muscle resistance instead of the usual approach of stretching, where you would pull away from the resistance. This practice involves listening to and connecting to each part of your body while discovering where you may be holding tension that is often tied to life experiences. This helps us to understand that we are a interconnected being and not just a sum of our parts. Through this exploration and reconnection of the mind, body, and spirit, it is then that we realize we hold the key to healing; as knowledge is power. ππ«
This series is inclusive and mostly adaptable for all humans; however, it is recommended that you be able to get up and down from the floor.
Some benefits of Somatic Exercise Include:
1. Pain Relief π
