Ecstatic Dance with SPASIBA (Katya Stepanov)
Our featured artist for this dance is SPASIBA!
SPASIBA (spa-sí-ba) blessing in Belarusian: meaning “thank you”.
SPASIBA (Katya Stepanov) is a Belarusian-Jewish-American DJ, artist and entrepreneur based in Brooklyn. Born in Minsk and raised in the concrete jungles of NYC, SPASIBA’s sound reflects her third-culture-kid experience braiding together world music, European house, techno, jungle house, disco, trance, and driving melodic EDM with a splash of Post-Soviet irreverence, mysticism and soul.
Known for breaking the fourth wall, SPASIBA got her start as a champion Latin Ballroom dancer, received her BFA at CMU’s School of Drama, and is committed to co-creating dance floors where notions of self are shed at the door and standing in place becomes physically impossible. She will spark your inner fire through vibrations of bass, sweat, and sonic alchemy.
When not behind the decks, Katya helps leaders create cultures of belonging as a co-founder of Inheritance Project, making immersive art with Rebis and acting on the silver screen (recent credits include Dr.Death (Peacock) and Law and Order SVU.

Breath Connection with Mallory Combemale
About Breath Connection
Breathing is the single most important thing we do every day, not only because it keeps us alive (!) but also because how we breathe has a deep impact on our physiology. Changing the way you breathe can change how you feel in less than a minute, because breathing is directly connected to the autonomic nervous system. There are hundreds of different breath techniques that all have different physiological effects.
During this Breath Connection experience, we'll connect with our breath and one another. We will use our breath to release stagnant energy, welcome in the new season and warm-up our bodies in preparation for the dance ahead!
About Mallory
Mallory Combemale is the founder of Breath Connection. In her 12+ years exploring yoga, meditation, Reiki, and many different spiritual traditions, she has found breath practices to be the most powerful tool for transformation and connection. She is a grateful student and teacher of the Himalayan kriya yoga tradition through Ananda Mehrotra (Sattva Yoga Academy, 500Hr YTT) and the neuroscience of breath (Nalanda Institute). Her teaching and work is also shaped by her training as an ethnographer and experience as a professional facilitator. When not facilitating or teaching breathwork, you’ll find her dancing, cooking and hanging out with trees. Connect with Mallory: https://www.instagram.com/breath_connection/
Warm up with Jesse Carrey
Warmup description:
The warmup will begin by waking up each of the physical senses. Then we will experience movement qualities through different centers in our body to inspire opportunities to diversify the way we dance. The warmup will conclude by exploring kinesthetic response as a group inspired by the Ensemble Method, developed through Rebis.
About Jesse Carrey
Jesse is a performer, experience designer, and floral designer based in the Hudson Valley. Together with Katya, he is the co-founder of Rebis, an immersive experience company. He was the director Those Before Us, an audio immersive dance experience that debuted on Governors Island in 2019. Through Rebis, he was also honored to be a story consultant and editor for It's Nice to Hear You, an award-winning podcast and NYTimes critic's pick. Most recently, Jesse has been the lead instructor for beginner to advanced adult acting classes at Shadowland Stages in Ellenville.
