Description

Join us on Wednesday, August 14th at 6:00 PM in-person at the Asheville Museum of History for a special program with scholar Jane Vann as we celebrate the closing of our exhibit on Rafael Guastavino, Palaces for the People, Guastavino’s Great American Places.

Jane Rogers Vann is a retired professor whose interest in local history and architecture led her to the study of Rafael Guastavino, who Vann refers to as “the most important architect most people have never heard of.” The presentation will include Guastavino’s personal and professional history, his influence on the built environment of the United States, and the durability and lasting beauty of his architectural genius. Attendees will also have an opportunity to view the exhibition, which closes on Saturday, August 17th. Light refreshments will be available.

Tickets are limited for in-person lectures, so don't miss your opportunity to secure a spot! Tickets: $10 General Admission / FREE for Asheville Museum of History members. We also have no-cost, community-funded tickets available. We want our events to be accessible to as many people as possible. If you are able please consider making a donation along with your ticket purchase. These donations are placed in our Community Fund, which allows us to offer tickets at no cost to those who would not be able to attend otherwise.
