Join filmmaker and documentarian David Altrogge in a discussion about making movies and telling stories.
David Altrogge will talk all things film in this workshop. Open to all ages, but with a special focus on high school students, he will discuss the process of making movies and documentaries. As co-founder of Vinegar Hill Pictures, David has worked as a director and producer of everything from commercials to micro-budget indie films to high profile documentaries to short films with his buddies in the backyard. He filmed for over a decade right here in Indiana, PA and is interested in discussing what his journey has been, as well as answering questions and motivating budding filmmakers.
Included in this workshop is a preview screening of Altrogge's new documentary Clemente: Executive produced by LeBron James and Oscar-nominee Richard Linklater, Clemente is a feature-length documentary that explores the life, career, and legacy of Roberto Clemente. From his childhood in Puerto Rico, to his early years of struggle with the Pittsburgh Pirates, to becoming one of baseball’s most beloved and iconic players, to his untimely death in 1972, Clemente is a celebration of a man who gave his all — both on and off the field. The film is slated for release in 2024. Winner of the SXSW Documentary Spotlight Audience Award.
You can also see Twin Reflex in the evening. Join us for the tenth anniversary of Twin Reflex, a micro-budget independent film shot completely in our local area. Tickets for this event are $5 and can be purchased here.
Clemente is also available Friday August 23rd at 7pm with a Q&A panel afterwards. Tickets can be found here.
