Description

First Features is a film series showcasing the very first feature-length works of filmmakers. Each screening is followed by an in-depth Q&A session that provides insight into the creative process. September’s viewing will spotlight Griffin in Summer, directed by Nicholas Colia. The screening will be followed by a conversation between the director and VCU Cinema Professor Danny Caporaletti.

Summary: Filmed in Richmond Virginia, Griffin in Summer is the story of fourteen-year-old Griffin Nafly, the most ambitious playwright of his generation, and his encounter with a twenty-five-year-old handyman named Brad. His life (and play) are irreversibly changed.

First Features is a coproduction of the ICA and VCU Assistant Professor of Cinema Yossera Bouchtia.

Schedule:
1:30 PM: Auditorium Doors open
2:00 PM: Film starts followed by discussion and Q&A.
