Fishie Chimes  

September 8, 1-3 pm

 

Dress up your garden or porch with a windchime shaped like a colorful fishie trying to catch a worm! Becky Zee will teach you a few basic ceramic techniques so you can create your own original hanging chime set, even if you’ve never touched clay before. After you’ve created all the parts and pieces to your satisfaction, you’ll be able to finish the whole project up with a rainbow’s worth of colorful clay paints, all in one sitting! All skill levels are welcome. Kids are welcome with an adult present (must be at least 10 years old). All creations will be given a waterproof clear glaze and fired off-site. Finished fishie parts will be brought back to the Memphis Botanic Garden for pickup 2 weeks after the class, complete with weatherproof rope and assembly instructions. Class fee includes all supplies and tools needed. All you need to bring is your imagination!

Entry - Everyone is welcome to join the class regardless of their skill level.  

 

What to expect:  

You will learn how to construct a fishie windchime for your home or porch using clay.  

You will use clay paints to decorate your creation.  

 

What's included in this class:  

Your cost covers all materials and tools needed for the class.  

Two hours of instruction from artist Becky Zee, https://www.beckyzee.com/  

 

Things to know:  

Children 10 years old and above are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

The finished pieces will be returned to MBG for pickup after two weeks and attendees will be notified by the instructor.  

Please make sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
