Featuring
Elyce Ostermann and Nancy Tyler, with guest artist Ken Collins
Music will reflect many genres, including classical, popular, and modern.
Elyce Ostermann works as a dental hygienist in Cloverdale, California, where she also lives with her husband, Matt, and her nine year old son Noah. She has played with numerous ensembles, including the musical programs at Sonoma State University and SRJC. She has recorded a few CDs of British composer David Solomons’ music alongside flutist Nancy Tyler. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from SSU and an A.S. in Dental Hygiene from SRJC.
Nancy Tyler teaches private flute and piano lessons in Santa Rosa, California. Her students play in all three levels of the Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Ensembles. She received a B.A. in Music in flute performance from S.F. State University, where she studied with Paul Renzi of the San Francisco Symphony. Over the years, Nancy has played in numerous ensembles and recorded CDs with a variety of musicians. She has played at Carnegie Hall at the 2008 World Flute Festival, and at the Lincoln Center in 2009.
Guest artist, Ken Collins, resides in Cloverdale, California. He specializes on clarinet and saxophone, and doubles on other band instruments as well. He graduated from San Jose State w a degree in Music Education. He taught music for 37 years, 31 of which were here in Cloverdale Schools. He now plays in several ensembles, including Healdsburg Community band, where he is often also their conductor and music programmer.
Nancy, Elyce, and Ken met in the Healdsburg Community Band. They also play in a group founded during the Pandemic by Ken Collins known as the Cottage Trio/Quartet, a group that performs free outdoor mini-concerts in Cloverdale.
