Description

Immerse yourself in the unique environments of marsh, creek, forest and beach provided by the Museum, and learn to pay attention in a new way with Carol Marcy’s guided meditations. The walk moves slowly interspersed with reflections that encourage a deep connection with your surroundings. Learn how slowing down, grounding yourself, and opening your awareness to the abundant life in and around you can be healing, calming, peaceful and deeply refreshing.

The practice of forest bathing comes to us from Japan, and draws inspiration from ancient Shinto and Buddhist practices that recognize the healing qualities of nature. You will bathe in the living being of the Forest by taking deep breaths of air filled with the calming scent of pine, experiencing the breeze on your skin, hearing the sound of the leaf orchestra under the direction of the wind and trees, soaking up the healing rays of the sun, and seeing the vast array of colors and shapes provided by Nature.

CCMNH Field Guide Carol Marcy has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy, and is a certified meditation teacher.
