Description

Get on the free-flowing river of the Catawba as it flows through the town of Rock Hill. This paddle brings all of the elements of a river trip into one experience from rocky shoals to gently flowing streams. Let Southern Basin Watershed Manager Rachael Rosenstein take you through one of the most popular paddling destinations in our Basin and discuss projects we have been working on and issues in the area . We’ll meet at the Upper Gravel Parking lot by the Pumphouse where we will shuttle up to the launch of the trip, BYO lunch will be enjoyed along the banks. We will end our trip where we met.  You may choose to bring your own kayak and equipment or rent a single sit-on-top kayak and accompanying gear from us. This paddle will have small rapids in a shallow rocky environment. This outing is best suited for beginner paddlers and durable kayaks (carbon/Kevlar or other fragile vessels are not recommended).
