Patricia retired as a partner of McKercher LLP on December 31, 2023.

Patricia was honoured to receive a Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for community service and was the 2023 recipient of the CBA Saskatchewan Community Service award.
Patricia received her law degree at the University of Manitoba in 1982. Patricia was named a “Woman of Influence” by SaskBusiness magazine in 2011 and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 2010. Patricia is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada in the fields of Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions and Entertainment Law. She is repeatedly recommended in the area of corporate commercial law in The Canadian Legal expert Directory and is ranked in Band 1 for General Business Law in Saskatchewan by Chambers Canada.
Patricia has completed the Public Sector Governance Certification (PSGov), Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.

JOSHWA J. HOWIE
Joshwa became a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan in 2020 after articling with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice and Crown Investments Corporation. He then joined a large Western Canadian law firm where he practiced predominantly in mergers and acquisitions. In June 2023, Joshwa joined McKercher LLP, and began practicing entertainment law under the mentorship of industry expert, Patricia Warsaba. Following Patricia’s retirement in December 2023, Joshwa became the key contact at McKercher for the firm’s entertainment law practice. He regularly works with industry participants at the local, national, and international level, including producers, distributors, financial institutions, investors, agents, and talent. Among other things, Joshwa provides legal advice regarding corporate organization, project development and finance, production, distribution, labour and immigration, insurance, and taxation.
