The Hellenic Foundation for Culture is a dynamic institution governed by the Ministry of Culture and originated in 1992 with a unanimous decision of the Greek Parliament. The foundation contributes to the promotion of the Greek language and culture worldwide. Through its branches in many different countries, including the UK, it aspires to build constructive relationships with other inspiring cultural foundations worldwide. In addition, the foundation wishes to be a centre for dialogue and dissemination of Greek fine arts as well as aspects of Greek culture and its universal values that will speak to the hearts of the Greek diaspora and the Philhellenes worldwide. Making use of modern technological capabilities it reaches out more easily to a wider community across geographical boundaries. The London branch is added to the extensive network of branches based in Alexandria, Belgrade, Berlin, Odesa, Tirana, Tbilisi, Paris, Trieste, Sarajevo and Nicosia. The foundation aims to contribute to the promotion of Greek culture in London and the United Kingdom and to strengthen the close ties between the two countries. It is well known that Greece and the UK have close relations which, despite the many fluctuations over the years, are still very much alive and well established. The foundation, with its Representative Ms Kyriaki Mitsou and it's dynamic team, will bring forward cultural events, competitions and other activities that will take us on a journey and showcase the uniqueness of the Greek culture.
Το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Πολιτισμού είναι ένας ημι-κρατικός φορέας που συστάθηκε στην Αθηνα το 1992 με απόφαση του Ελληνικού Κοινοβουλίου και συμβάλλει αποτελεσματικά στη διάδοση της ελληνικής γλώσσας και του ελληνικού πολιτισμού διεθνώς. Μέσα από τα παραρτήματα του σε αρκετές χώρες, συμπεριλαμβανομένου και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, φιλοδοξεί να διαμορφώσει σχέσεις εποικοδομητικής συνεργασίας με σπουδαίους πολιτιστικούς φορείς ανά την υφήλιο. Επιπροσθέτως, επιθυμεί να αποτελέσει κέντρο διαλόγου και διάδοσης των ελληνικών τεχνών και γραμμάτων αλλά και όλων των πτυχών του ελληνικού πολιτισμού και των οικουμενικών του αξιών που θα συμπεριλαμβάνει Έλληνες και φιλέλληνες ανά τον κόσμο. Αξιοποιώντας τις σύγχρονες τεχνολογικές δυνατότητες απευθύνεται ευχερέστερα σε ένα ευρύτερο κοινό χωρίς γεωγραφικούς περιορισμούς. Το παράρτημα του Λονδίνου έχει προστεθεί δυναμικά στο εκτενές δίκτυο των παραρτημάτων μας με έδρες στην Αλεξάνδρεια, το Βελιγράδι, το Βερολίνο, το Βουκουρέστι, τη Λευκωσία, τη Μόσχα, την Οδησσό, το Παρίσι, το Σαράγεβο, την Τεργέστη και τα Τίρανα. Το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Πολιτισμού του Λονδίνου έχει σκοπό να αναδείξει τον ελληνικό πολιτισμό στο Λονδίνο και το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο αλλά και να υπογραμμίσει τις στενές διπλωματικές σχέσεις που έχουν οι δύο χώρες. To 'Ιδρυμα του HB με Εκπρόσωπο την κα Κυριακή Μήτσου και τη δυναμική ομάδα του θα παρουσιάσει παραστάσεις, φεστιβάλ, διαγωνισμούς και άλλες πολιτιστικές δράσεις που θα μας ταξιδέψουν και θα μας ξεναγήσουν για μια ακόμη φορά στην μοναδικότητα της ελληνικής κουλτούρας.
