Description

Historic Rock Ford welcomes Margaret O'Neil as she presents "From Regency to Romantic: The Essentials of 1820s Fashion." The 1820s was a transformational time in the history of fashion. Caught between the Regency and Victorian periods, the decade reflects changes in textile technology and changing artistic aesthetics. This lecture will unravel the style of this exciting decade.

This lecture is part of our Lafayette Lecture Series and will be held in the Langmuir Education Room located on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn.

Margaret O'Neil is a textile conservator currently working in Philadelphia. She graduated from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation in 2023 with a major in textiles and a minor in preventive conservation. She is interested in historical dress from the 17th through 20th centuries and shares her work on social media under the name Costume and Conservation.
