Step into the magic of Tweefontein’s autumn gardens and join us for a heartwarming community celebration in honor of the Full moon and Autumn Equinox. We’ll call a sacred circle, invoking the elements. We will take a meditative journey, focusing on the bountiful growth we've nurtured, and are now gathering in to sustain us as the wheel of the year turns toward winter. We will engage with our bodies and breath to embody our insights and intentions.
On this enchanting evening, we will assemble to give thanks and celebrate the richness of autumn as the nights grow longer, on our way toward the longest night on Winter solstice. ! Together, we will illuminate candles, partake in a magical herbal infusion, and enjoy a communal pot-luck feast afterward!
We will be gathering outside in the garden. Please bring a blanket, cushion, or chair to sit on.
Please feel welcome to bring hand-held instruments and dress festively for the ritual! We will have tea light candles for everyone, but feel free to bring your own special candle if you like!
If you are staying after for the potluck, please bring a healthy, nourishing dish or snack to share if you can, with a note listing ingredients.
We will be providing paper plates and utensils.
BIOS:
Robin Rose Bennett is a story-teller, writer, and herbalist, offering classes in Herbal Medicine and EarthSpirit Teachings since 1986 - at herb conferences, festivals, medical schools, and most joyously, outside with the plants. Robin Rose shares herbal medicine with gratitude for the loving generosity of the plants and the magic, mystery, and beauty of the web of life. She is the author of two meditation MP3’s and the books: Healing Magic - A Green Witch Guidebook to Conscious Living, The Gift of Healing Herbs - Plant Medicines and Home Remedies for a Vibrantly Healthy Life, A Young Green Witch’s Guide to Plant Magic - Rituals and Recipes from Nature, and A Green Witch's Pocket Book of Wisdom-Big Little Life Tips.
Amanda Krische is a choreographer, writer, educator, and herbalist creating performance experiences at the intersection of mythopoetics, herbal medicine, neuroscience, and ecology. She uses performance to create ecosystems of care, and has premiered work at such venues as the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, The Public Theater, and The Kitchen and has been supported by YoungArts, New York Foundation for the Arts, Grace Farms Foundation, and the Jerome Foundation. She has held residencies at Omi International Arts Center, Keshet, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Arts Center, Kaatsbaan Cultural Park, and the Camargo Foundation. She has taught at LaGuardia H.S., NYU, Cooper Union School of Art, and has developed movement curriculum in collaboration with the Louis Armstrong House Museum/ the Pina Bausch Foundation. She has studied herbal medicine under the mentorship of Robin Rose Bennett, Sajah Popham, and Marysia Miernowska. She is a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts.
