When Carole Montgomery (a stand up comedy veteran of over 40 years) started in the business, you would never see two female comics on the same show. Fast forward to today’s comedy scene and nothing has changed, even though there are way more women in comedy.

 

FWOACA gives FEMALES OVER 50 a chance to be seen and be heard. Frustrated by how women are portrayed in show business once they hit the age of 50, Carole decided to do something about it.  She had the idea to create a traveling comedy showcase with a rotating cast of older female comedians. In no time at all, Carole’s idea become a Showtime special that made history and broke ratings records with two more SHOWTIME Comedy Specials and millions of new fans!

 

The women who appear in FWOACA are all brilliant, funny, and vibrant – and it just so happens that they are all of a certain age. These are the women who blazed the trail for the female comedians you see performing today.

Carole’s idea become a SHOWTIME special that made history and broke ratings records. It was Showtime’s highest rated premiere of a stand up show in 2019 and has spawned TWO more “Funny Women Of A Certain Age” Comedy Specials on SHOWTIME and tours nationally with a rotating cast of very Funny Women!

 

MISSY HALL

Queen of Happy Things, is a comedian, speaker, breast cancer survivor and actress who uses happiness as a coping mechanism.  Her relatable, witty style has captivated audiences around the country. Her comedy album, “Miss Representation” made the Grammy entry list for funniest comedy album; her album, “Fifty Shades of Fifty”, has over a quarter million streams and her latest recording, “Scoot Up”, is currently playing on Sirius XM radio. 

 

TERESA LOGAN

Teresa Roberts Logan is an award-winning standup comic and cartoonist. She has been a featured comic on such comedy shows as A&E's "Evening at the Improv," and "Comedy on the Road," and has also made comedy appearances on HBO, The Comedy Channel, and The Food Network. She has been a regular featured comic at clubs such as CATCH A RISING STAR Las Vegas, ZANIES Chicago, and COMEDY WORKS Denver.
